    Bench Seat

I just put a bench in a 85 and the one I used was out of a 88. The brackets have to be modified and you need a bench that's recess in the middle to allow for your shifter.

I threw a bench seat away about 4 months ago. The non SR5 trucks had a bench seat.Alpi's had an 87 with a bench in it last time I was there. Positive is that you can sort of fit 3 people in the cab. Negative is that the bench seat is nowhere near as comfortable as most buckets.

I replaced my Celica buckets with a 60/40 bench seat from a 93. It's easily as comfortable as the Celica buckets and I've got room for both kids in a pinch. The hideaway arm rest is another nice touch. I seem to remember paying around $100 Cdn for the seats and 3 of the 4 holes lined up perfectly.

Mental - did you fit the 60/40 bench into a regular cab pickup? This is something that I was considering, but I wasn't sure if there was enough room. My 90 extra cab had the split bench and it was a lot more comfortable than my 86 regular bench.

Good point, I didn't think of the 3rd gen bench, it is a better seat. The early bench still isn't a setup I'm very fond of though.

    Just pulled bench

I just replaced my 60/40 bench with some new buckets outta an MR2. So if you are looking for one, ill give it to you cheap. Yes it does work fine with a 5 speed, I just hope your not planning duel transfer cases. Give me a call on my cell

Albinig - I would be interested in that 60/40 bench if it is grey or black in colour and in decent shape. Let me know if you still have it.

    Still got em

They are grey in colour, in good shape, with a fold down arm rest in the middle, and tilt forward to access behind them. I also have a custom 10" sub box that fits right in behind. Factory bolt pattern, came outta my 85 reg cab. Give me a call on my cell, leave a message if I dont answer(I work with loud equipment). 604-787-9877 Ryan

I have a factory bench in my 82 Toy SR5. I'm pretty sure it's the same as the 84's. It's a regular cab with 5 speed standard. I would have replaced my bench for buckets a long time ago, but I use mine as a daily driver and like having the option of squeezing another person in if I have to. Buckets are definately more comfortable for wheelin and all around.
