I've heard they are as durable as the toyota diesel's - they are similar to the 1L Toyota diesel which is 83 and older at least they looked similar and i think had similar specs.
The reason i asked was i was cruising through a junk yard and came across one hidden in the back and was thinking about getting it for an offroad buggy.

The only diesel nissan that i have seen was nothing like the 1L the nissan diesels use an inline injector pump ( toy is radial) and they have overhead valve and a geardrive pump ( the 1L is overhead cam and belt drive pump.......)
Not to say that one is better than the other or anything. The Nissan is a respected engine all around the world.

Thumbs up

The Nissan Diesel that I have uses VE-type distribution pump which is belt driven.
And it's been very good to me it has over half a million km on it and still runs like new,
Hey Mrdiesel , what kind of vehicle was it sitting in?

Nothing like a diesel question to light up a board.

It was in a Nissan, the rear was gone and the front was covered with some other junk which kept it hidden. My rig is almost to half a million, soon to be 454,000. I saw another one in a running rig and that one looked completely different, really square looking.

The Diesel I am using comes from 81 maxima 810, it's nice little unit, 2.8L
have a spare one sitting in garage.
I don't think I will ever want any vehicle that isn't a diesel.
I love the smell, noise and everything else that comes with diesel.
