Here Cody, let me help

according to my Backroad mapbook (limited editon)
SWBC MapsPage section,
page 14,
5 E location,
marked Hale Creek Rec. Site

if I remember correctly the turn off fromthe FSR is aprox 25kms from the fish hatchery. (end of pavement) 0 your odometer there.

I suspect that certain people on this site make commission on the backroad mapbook

Nothing to do with commision, just trying not to advertise trails and places openly. If someone is serious enough about exploring and wheeling, I'm sure they'd take the time to buy a mapbook and have at it. The average yahoo probably wouldn't fork out the equivalent to a case of beer to buy the book. I ran into a couple while camping on the sunshine coast and they were asking me about trails, hot springs and what not. They seemed sincere enough, so I gave them my mapbook and told them to have fun with it.

at least that's my theory!

Only if it is hood deep and you risk going with the flow of the water.

At this present time, you won't have to worry about that. But, if it starts raining hard, for ever and ever, then get the rope ready.

Re: hale creek area

Those crossings are generally not enough to get the tires wet. We had 3 or so feet of snow and then a torrential 'pineapple express' rainfall and immediate mild temperature all in a matter of 48 hours. All that rain + tons of melting snow turned those crossings into ragers. It was pretty much a freak occurance, and the conditions would have to be just right to see anything of that caliber again.

Re: hale creek area

are you going to hale this weekend?

I'm doing the Haney to Harrison relay with some buddies on saturday.. might try to convince a couple of them to hang back on sunday and do a run or two ..

might end up down there, and if its not too went do the V rock again.

Do you have a CB ?
