Tick-tock buddy.

How about a little less talking and little more working. I'm not interested in towing your rig around the dezert while you make vroom vroom noises.

Re: The Evil (ution) 2.0

Well at least he's motivated. I've seen more progress in the last couple weeks than all of last year.

I might have asked this before, what kind of power does that engine put out?

Re: The Evil (ution) 2.0

I wish it was only the motivation that was lacking last year...
I actually had crap get in the way and ate into the budget too...

Motor:

- 2.5 liters (2,491 cc) V6
- 54.2 mm bore, 48.3 mm stroke
- 9.5 compression ratio
- light alloy block, light alloy head
- double overhead cam and four valves per cylinder
- Multi-point injection
- Power: 116 kW , 155 HP @ 6,500 rpm; 160 ft lb , 217 Nm @ 4,000 rpm

Oh ya... did I mention HEMI? LOL!!!

This will yeald about 25lb per 1HP in my truck with 5.89 final rear end gearing and 7000RPM rev limiter...

If you compare this to a heavy 4.3 with 190 HP and a truck equipped with 4.11s... on paper at least I should have more performance. We'll see about that in the sand, I guess...

Re: The Evil (ution) 2.0

ooooooooh, HEMI.

Grab a NOS kit and see if you can get it into the 10lbs per 1hp area.

Re: The Evil (ution) 2.0

So got some work in during mid week.
Most of it was welding up strategic areas that will be a bitch to do later and need to be strong enough anyways for testing and stuff. Specifically I capped off and finished welding the shock hoops to the frame. With the upper shock mounts all welded now as well some suspension cycling will be required to finalize the bottom shock tabs.

Did other minor crap like rad mount details and stuff...

The main progress was meant to set up work for the rest of the cage:

This fender line under the hood needs to meet the rocker bar:

The old bar was too tucked in (a bit ineffective) and needed to protrude more:

So:

Welded the rungs on the bench (for convenience):

On the truck it goes (run into some rust I didn't clean properly in a tiny spot and it shows in the weld on the front!!! Damn it!!!):

And now I have a base for the bottom of the cage:

Repeat on the other side:

there:

Tomorrow will bend some more together with Shogunator who's coming and will be trying to finalize the front clip/fascia .

Re: The Evil (ution) 2.0

question about the air shocks, are they street legal? in about a year i want to go 3-link on the front of my chev and i cant decide between coil and shock, full coilover, or air shock. i like the idea of air shocks and basically have infinite adjustability.

Re: The Evil (ution) 2.0

Uhhh... I don't know that they aren't but that does not mean they are... I don't know. But it would help to know since I'm building a street-able machine...

We could, if we HAAD too, bring the jeep. Grenade it in .025 sec, call visa and ask for a credit increase, then drop it off at the genrite booth. But you will have to leave me in the states to hide from wifey.

Evil (ution) 2.0 will be completed. Atleast enough to wheel.
