22re problems removing my Harmonic balancer and main crank pully.. idea's

Hey i`m trying to rebuild a 22re, however i`ve come to halt on account of the harmonic balancer\crank pully. the moter is pulled in sitting in the back of my truck thats where most of the disassembling is going to take place and i can't get the torque to pull out the bolt. i`ve tried an air gun but it doesn't have the jam. Any tips or secrets that i could use would be much appreciated

I have used a pry bar threw the balancer holes to "lock" the crank .. then you can use a breaker bar on the bolt ..

Lots of heat on the bolt works quite well.

If your flywheel is off, you can use some longer bolts threaded into the crank, and place a breaker bar of some sort in between (like Slacker's idea but at the back) to keep the crank from turning. A nice big breaker bar has always done the trick for me (that and making sure to break the bolt free before the engine is pulled).

get a better airgun and make sure you have enough air supply to run it. ingersol rand composite body (231ti i think?) usually does the trick.
