The pix of the jeep just under the water is very cool (side view)...
Cheers R...
effin' rights boysnice job. i was hoping to make it out saturday morning...didnt work out so well coming home @ sun up the night before...
regardless...way to go on a very difficult recovery. hopefully this is a lesson learned and nobody else will make such a mistake. any idea on how the water will get cleaned up?
Right on guys .... glad to see it's out finally. Hopefully our run up on Tuesday wasn't a complete failure and the jeep was at least a bit closer to shore
So Chris, what was the complete carnage list suffered by you and Tmax???

Sass:
- broke something nasty in the front winch hydraulic winch
- overheated the rear winch
Me:
- broke a tree saver
- winch stopped working with the Jeep half on the trailer
- broke my fire extinguisher mount......I put my wheel chock under the rear tire, and I have a rope that I rest inside the cab, well, I wrapped it around the handle of the extinguisher, and when the tug strap stretched, the rope didn't and pulled back on the extinguisher thus ripping it out of the mount)
Others:
- a few straps and I think another tree saver

I couldn't have said this any better myself.
Thanks to everyone that was there. Without everyones individual effort and equipment, straps, bent bumpers mounts, 2 12000 pound winches, 1 Mog, 1 nice bronco with a burnt winch, shackles, and tree savers we would be back again today, or the owner of the truck would be in alot of trouble and some huge huge fines. Luckily the 4x4 community like it's back yard. Great props!
Getting ready for the dip and shrinkage
Starting recovery the talking of the minds
What was the quote " I love the smell of gas in the morning"
Moving slowly
Looks like a lot of gas but was gone rather quickly
Almost there, remember winches don't like to lift vertical 3 can prove it
Sass
Chris
Was getting close then strap broke sending it back down the hill
The RCMP show up to check out the damages
He lets Steve off (owner of the jeep without fines)
Finally after 5hours of pulling I think we gots it
Pretty view except for the heap
Have video of the dragging down v- rock just have to figure out how to post
Loading onto trailer
Sass likes carnage so he rams it onto the trailer

When entering a 4-way stop the truck with the BIGGEST tires has the right of way!
Hope the damage to the winches isn't anything too serious and they can be repaired easily
How did the RCMP officer get up to the lake? Did he hitch a ride with someone? Or did he drive one of their RCMP trucks up there???

He was on a quad
...May I arrive at the gates of heaven a week before the devil knows I'm dead...
Some more pics
A strap broke and we almost lost it back in the lake.
The rock under the bumper got dragged by the gas tank. this thing just plowed the trail.
It was a good day and had fun meeting some good people.![]()
