Re: sunrise lake needs your help

was there all day went along with Chris. definately something to see. was mostly muddy guy as was hookin up straps and shackles all day long. i'm pretty sure the carnage total on the recovery gear was about 6-8 straps and a couple o' winches. good thing sass brought an extra winch. just to let everyone know i did contact the rcmp officedr that was up there during the day and let him know that the recovery went well and that the jeep is now out of the lake and down the hill.

    lessons learned today:

12000 lbs. winch doesn't mean up the side of a cliff!

tow straps should be the maximum size available!

hope everyone posts there photos to look at.

i will send mine to Chris to post.
90 yj, 10inch lift (3.5 tuff country easy ride, performance 1.5 inch shackles and soa), 35 baja claws, 8.5 ramsey winch, teraflex high steer, posi lock cable engagement, 7" flares, hd sye and cv shaft, welded front and rear, blah, blah, blah blah blah.

Re: sunrise lake needs your help

Just got home after a loooooooong day. Had to leave Sunrise at about 3:30pm to get the dive gear I rented back as it turned out my tank needed a hydro, and my regs needed servicing, and I wasn't going to pay for 2 days worth. Then had to go and watch UFC. Awesome team work combined with many straps breaking got the truck out. Thanks to everyone who came to help out! here's a link to some pics I took. I have some video too, but haven't had them hosted anywhere yet.

Great work!! Jeesh, looks like the Jeep had a pretty rough tumble into the lake, or was the damage due to the recovery? LR

I imagine some of each. It was on it side in the lake on Tuesday, which is why we were able to snag the passenger side axle. It was upside down when we got it to shore. I have no idea what position it was in after it slid back into the lake after they took the cables off.

So, did my tree save and shackle make it back?
