chris B and gang cookin up some lunch..

this is where sas told us it was going to be quite overgrown..that was an understatement.

but a good half hour of bush beating opened up to a fantastic lookout. the clouds parted briefly...to let us have a peek down.

the view was well worth it though...

gotta have the bc4x4 plug in there

Great people, great pics, great burgers and fun trails!

Happy to meet you all and a big thanks to Chris. Count me in for the next run.

    Sonny,

Excellent pics and I hope you don't mind, but I want to submit this to FUH2.

I only wish Hunter had his umbrella with him.

Most of my stuff is on video, but I'll try and upload the few I have on my camera in the am.

BTW, The Sass/Bush footage was awesome!

I think I know who it was. Everyone was saying his name when we got up there.

"Great!!! After all that, we see nothing but clouds. Jesus Christ!!!!!" Then the clouds parted.

That was quite a narrow trail Sass. Could that be considered "As narrow as it gets"? Great payoff in the end.

Here's pretty much all I have. Looks great. I'll try and YouTube the video footage this week.

Sorry if I missed a few of the other rigs. A bunch of them came out blurry.

Others cooked too. Lots of BBQ's out so it made for a pretty good tailgate party Thanks to BC4x4 for donating the lunch and to the others who brought stuff.

I had a great time and I'm looking forward to the next WWU run LOL

Unfortunately Lynn finished off the traction bar on her Jeep. Ripped it right off the axle. Noticed it when we stopped at the lookout so we were careful after that and had to end the day earlier that I would have liked. Wouldn't have been so bad if the brake line wasn't threaded through it. Pics to follow once I pull the axle to fix it.

Thanks again to Chris for everything.
Was good to meet new faces and explore new places.
Maybe we can do a run like that again but add a camping aspect to it?.....just a thought.

It was also good to find out first hand that the creek water isn't actually all that cold.

Oh and just so everyone knows......it's $109 fine for driving without doors.

    What An Adventure!

Neo Anderson: Did you get stung without doors!? If you did where did that happen?

Thanks everyone for the great time....it's been two solid years of building my toy. This was one of the first bloody long trips since my truck went under the zip disc and drivetrain build. I had always wanted to do that loop and thank goodness the truck held up over the 10+ hours of driving and wheeling! We had an amazing time! It was unreal....everyone was thinking the same thing when we got to the lookout....everyone was cursing sas's name under their breaths and then the clouds began to part, it was like it was meant to be....unreal view....Thanks Sas for the pinstripin good time For those of you that ran down to Hale, did you all get caught in the downpour? Cole and I sure did on the FSR out. What a trip! Oh yeah, thanks to BC4x4 for spottin us with the Burgers, they were perfect and I was starvin! I'll never forget the neverending trees that ripped my exhaust off, or the dead tree that I tapped with the grill...I was like WTF!? when guys were diving away from my truck, until crash bang boom! the deadfall slammed onto the hood! LOL It was great to meet everyone, what a convoy! Hope to see everyone on the next trail run! Next time let's get that third blue unimog out there
    take care guys!
    Chris

BTW Chris squeaky breaks are worky breaks . cant believe you could hear them from your truck but no worries though as the truck stops on a dime.

thanks again for a great time. lets do another one soon.

    Yep i got stung.
Only 86 and older CJ's are allowed no doors cuz they had the option of no doors from the factory.
It happened just before the shell gas station(ten minutes down the road from Norrish FSR).One cop was at a street corner lookin for victims while the other waited just down the road on a gravel pulloff...he had his lights going before i even saw him.
He was in a white monte carlo with a sideways "N" on his trunk.
I'm not really so mad about it as disappointed cuz i at least wanted to go a few days first before getting dinged.

The "good" news is that if i pay within 30 days its only 84 bucks.........yay.......i'm overjoyed.

But hey...with no doors it made for interesting trail ride through the jungle Sass took us through!!!
