Heya.

I'm bringing a National Geographic documentary crew up to the Agassiz area and we want to do some filming along Harrison Lake. I've only been there once, and I remember taking a spur right behind the Sasquatch Inn.

Does anybody know who administers that area?

Is it Crown land?

Private?

Provincial Park?

Thanks.

the roads back there are bc forest service roads, on crown land. from these roads go a variety of de-activated forest service roads and 4wd only roads, everything is on crown land.
some roads are gated because they have been deactivated, are old minesites, or are currently being logged.
there are a few ways to access the lake from the harrison west forest service road, but usually people would access it from harrison hot springs or harrison mills.
out of curiousity what are you documenting? what do they want to film? depending on what they want to film and what vehicle youre driving there is alot to be seen on the roads. obviously a capable 4wd is going to get to alot more places and sights than a 2wd.
i would suggest get a copy of the backroads mapbook lowermainland. they cost 10-20 dollars depending on where you buy them from, this book has a really good map of harrison lake and the backroads.

Hi

I have a BR mapbook, but I wanted to confirm who managed the land. It being Crown land is good news.

FTR, it's a documentary on cougar attacks (the four-legged kind). I want to use Harrison Lake because it's a good double for the Fair Harbour area of the Island. We want to shoot a recreation of an attack that happened there.

Why not shoot it there?

Mind your own business! :p

The real reason is because we're using a tame cougar for a couple of the reenactments, and the cougar is based on the Mainland. It would cost too much to take her to the Island.

Ok... A pine tree car freshener rubbed under the arm pits and a dip of Skoal tucked away adding up to a delightful treat for the senses then?

WTT....

one bottle of High Karate & half a bottle of Aqua Velvet for a can of Axe or pine tree air freshner. May also require a ride back from the sasquatch inn. :D
