How many of you guys with the v-6 have changed your oxygen sensor? What kms did you do it at and did you notice any difference afterwards. Also what brand did you install.
I am at 170 kms and thinking about it. Gas milage seems to have taken a header.

172,000 km is a lot for an o2. It is not uncommon for them to go. If it does fail it will flash the check engine light. Has yours come on?

I replaced mine at about 230,00kms (not sure if the previous owner had done it before, but I doubt it). I used a NGK o2 sensor that I bought from work (Lordco). It was a generic replacement one that is less than half the cost of buying the proper NGK one with the wiring harness. All I had to do was cut the wires to the old one and crimp the new one on. It was real easy, and the heat shrinking crimp connectors were even included in the box :) There was a noticable increase in power and about a 10% increase in fule economy after I did it too -- went from just over 400km per tank to almost 450kms. Mind you, I also replaced the cap, rotor, wires (NGK blue ones), spark plugs (NGK platinum), and added a K&N air filter, so some of that stuff probably helped too.
I will warn you tho, that the nuts that hold the O2 sensor on are really rusted in place and strip easiely. I had to heat mine up with a torch in order to get it off.
Anyway, all in all, I'd higly recomend changing it, because within a year I will have paid for it just by the amount of gas I've saved :D

Master C, Is there only one generic NGK O2 sensor? OR do I just pick the one with the same amount of wires as mine.

There's a few different generic ones, because there is a couple of ways that O2 sensors are mounted.
Just goto Lordco and ask for NGK O2 sensor part nunber 24182. The list price on it is $113 vs ~ $300 for OEM one, and they both work exactly the same except one has a connector on it and the other doesn't. You should be able to get it for around 80 bucks if you can talk them down a bit.
