Does anyone know the current situation surrounding the Caroline Mines?

Are they still closed down or was that whole deal just a rumour started to keep out like usual? LR

With the price of gold being so high these days one would have to wonder. I have asked a few people in the industry about caroline mines, reaction has ranged from knowing smiles to outright laughter. To some, caroline mines was the swindle of the day (ore reserves grossly overstated were the words used). How much it is true I have no idea....

Theres no doubt it's situated on the coquihalla gold belt and hozameen fault which are both rich in many different types of ore, especially gold. Some of the adits in that area are a bust, but others such as Adit #1 (Carolin claim), and Aurum Adit #1 (1920's) following quartz lines and there has been known gold pulled out of there (I dont think there are early production reports for Aurum)

In the summer when the rumours were flying about Carolin mines being reclaimed, I tried contacting some BC mineral agents and they didnt know anything. I assumed maybe it was closed for foresty purposes, but I never found anything out. This time of year that area is inaccesible anyway because of the weather...

Yeah, reading the minfiles, it didn't sound like the Caroline claims pulled too much out for how large the operation was. I think its the Juliet claim up on top past the toll booth it was that I was reading about, and their report was much higher amounts of gold per tonne. Walking through the Caroline mines you can tell they got deperate in the upper levels because there's not much to the tunnels, unlike the lower levels. Just what I thought of the place. Very neat to walk through, though. Cheers
