I"m not an organizer this year...maybe next but heres the info.

What: Truck Toy Run Challenge
Date: Sunday, December 4, 2005
Time: 9:30 am

Every year Truckers and their families congregate at the SE corner of Guildford Town Centre. From there, they set off on convoy to Bear Creek Park where they hand over 100’s of new toys to kick start the supply for the Christmas Bureau.

At 9:30 on December 4, you can come as you are – or compete for prizes by being one of the best decorated trucks.

Don’t eat breakfast – once again, the Lion’s Club is accepting donations in exchange for their excellent pancakes, sausages, coffee and juice served at the Bear Creek Park where the true spirit of Christmas begins for many truckers and their families as they offer toys and non perishable foods to kids and families who would otherwise go without.

This event has been dwindling over the years. I belive there usually is someone from a Newspaper there, but because of the lack of support of this event it's not something they try and play up in print.
heck though, if we did something stupit they'd be all over that (as usual) but when it comes to us doing something for a good cause it seems no one cares :(
Pretty sad.

I hope we can see as many new faces as old this year!

but since we're new here (and in Canada) I'd love to have some details about the place (where is it? I'm coming from Coquitlam) and what would be considered as a nice donation. Have no idea - just any toy? some food?

GUILDFORD TOWN CENTRE, SURREY
Main Intersection:152 STREET & 104 AVENUE
I think the SE parking lot is by Walmart???

I tryed getting you a map starting at Coquitlam Centre but Map Quest just did not want to work for me. Anyways Guilford Mall is at 152nd St and 104th ave in Surrey if that helps you at all.

I'm sure any kind of unwraped toy will do.

it's a great event, Dress up your truck and you could win prizes!

Comming from Coquitlam, go over the port Mann Bridge and take your first exit to 152nd Street, head straight down 152nd and the mall will be on your right hand side, enter the parking lot where you see the Red Robins Rest. and you will see a bunch of trucks there, kind of by the wall mart.
