I own a 89' YJ, however, I am replacing the notor with a rebuilt 87' 258. With other performance mods such as a 4.0 L head swap, HEI and MSD ignition control. I would like to build a conical style intake tube for my carburated engine. But without luck I cannot figure out the complex vacum system associated with these engines.
Does anyone have any tips or suggestions which I can use to build a K&N system for my YJ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Can't help you with the conical filter, but K&N does make a round filter that goes in the factory airbox. I ran one for a couple of years...

Also, here's a link to a great primer on the 258 engine. It includes plenty of info on the engine's vacuum system:

Good luck,
Chris
