I am currently trying to upgrade my 98' TJ to 33x12.50 with either a 2" suspension lift, or a coil spacing with a 1" body lift. I would go with a 4" suspension, but I can't afford it right now. My question is which one would be the smarter way to go??

Can't help with your post but was wondering where is Atlantic Beach, FL.

I am from Clearwater Florida and have never heard of where you are from. One more thing....are you really a Soccer Mom?

Take Care....

I assume you mean a 3" suspension lift. No point in buying 2" springs.

3" springs:
-more expensive
-you can choose firmer springs if you carry a lot of weight
-you can add spacers later to level the ride or add a bit more lift
-you can add a body lift later if you want a taller look.
-transfer case and gas tank has been raised 3", not 2" like with the spacers.

2" spring spacer + 1" body
-cheaper
-stock ride
-much more complicated install
-slight danger of popping a rear spring out under high-flex situations (you can reduce the chances of this to nearly zero)
-spacers are easy to sell later if you change your mind
-side-steps and bumpers will be 1" below the body.
-the extra room above the rear bumper due to the body lift will make it easier to fit a 33" spare.

definently go with 3" suspension lift its a lot better. like the other guy said above and plus it looks better gives better lift and still easy to do spend the day in the drive-way its a do it your-selfer.

Spacers are fine, most of the XJ Crowd runs spacers up front with no ill effects.

Darn we can't run a body lift though.
