So I've possible come across a 1985 nissan king cab, 4inch lift, 33 inch mud kings on it. I took it for a test drive, it needs a new tranny (no reverse) and I think new gears since it loses power on even the smallest hill. (high way flat, 100km/hour, minor hill drops to 90km, and i need it in 3rd to stay up to 90km/h) I was woundering what gears I would need, would it help, and how much they would cost. The truck i might get for $1000, new rebuilt tranny is $650. Body has very little rust, I want this for a bush truck for hunting.
Any advice is appericated.
Thanks Winky

$650 for rebuilt trans is sure a lot cheaper than for my nissan:confused: Some of those hard parts ad up pretty fast.

after re-gearing and a new trany you will have more money into it than the initial purchase price

I am parting out / selling my 85 720 4x4 and have a newly rebuilt trany in it. It cost me alittle over 1G to get it rebuilt. It is solid! I will sell the whole truck with Cap and extra set of white 8spoke rims 2 extra heads, good role pan, and extra crank pluss more extra parts for $2000.00 OBO It would give you the trans you need and extra parts when you break them (and you will) :D
