Hey you seem to know your nissan shizit really well!
I saw your cardomain pictures and am impressed.

I need your assistance man emailed you never got anything back in replys..

I have a 87 pathfinder and am in the process of probably making it undriveable for 6 months...

What i need help in:
1. Im seeking set of somehting 16 inch wise rims that will fit my pathfinder due to the hubs on the front having issues finding a fit...

2. the engine swap you did i would like to know a jist of the process.. I got my dads pontiac 383 cammed out streetrod engine and am gonna try for the engine swap this year.

3. engine swap which leads to this needing answering... What to do to the front end due to weight..

(a.) go a set of coils in the front with the grand jeep cherokee 3 lift springs? Dunno if this is a way out fo doing a full blast sas? I m kinda hashing ideas this minute? Need to get a path and follow it...

(b.) sas the front end and what do i need exactly to start looking for?

(c.) im waiting for your reply i have no idea im not excatly a susepnsion specialist. The engine is easy to do the front end /?? Im kinda screwed?

Ask this on the www.nissan4wheelers.com site. You are starting a huge project. Don't rely on only one or two opinions. Try to learn the mistakes of others. I have done alot of online reading about pathy modification and I have not seen a 383 even mentioned - there might be a good reason for this.

Good luck

I have seen one in real person 383 mod fit with a 350 and 400 turbo transmisson. The only weak link is the IFS cannot deal with the weight.. So 2 things have to be dealt with. Its not an easy project at all. I just love the pathfinder alot. Think it deserves a bigger engine...:p

I have seen 2 online in pathfinders one 87 and other that whatever yoshi runs 90 something year? And also a toyota 4 runner and truck body also. So it can be done hell anything can be done...

jnf hey just read your post you did a sas heh...

What about that dana front housing you got? Why u selling it?

I may take it need to know what i can stuff in it before hand... Im getting parts lined up for the time of my test of the skills.. I think i may get someone to do one sas then try one myself and create a novel as well....

I wanna do a pathfinder and a 4 runner. in the end will sell one of them... Needed will be one reliable runner for sure i think this will be a 12 month plus project doing a 350 plus engine & sas swap...

Holy, all this talking and i havent replyed. SORRY i moved to richmond and havent really had time to use the internet there yet. i been super busy working too.

so to answer your questions i havent done a engine swap yet thats for later this year (1991 ford 5.0 HO FI) and a SAS swap is easy if you have the right parts on hand.

i went with the ford engine because i used ford axles so that way i can get a tranny and transfer case that have the output on the driver side. And the engine's distributer is on the front of the engine so i wont have clearence problems (cross fingers) .

if you go with a chevy engine there TC's most at least (older ones) exit on the other side so you can use a toyota front axle and that way your bolt patterns stay the same front to back and you can use leaf sprung front end which is easier to set up.

For any other qusetions you can email me at home because i dont get around that much at the moment.

SORRY FOR THE SLOW REPLY
