Bad bulb or ground wire I would guess. Check the power with a voltmeter. If the bulb works on the other side then it should be a ground problem at the connector.

open steering console.

on mine its the problem with the day time running light thingy. it dosent work on one side but if the head lights are on it works. my buddy works at the nissan dealer and he says customers complain about it all the time.
the way to fix it is there is a light controller box in the passenger side fender behind the battery. take it off and clean the conections. that should work :D

Yoshi,
I have the exact same problem with my '95 pickup. Thanks for the advice.

If it's not the DRL module (which I have also had gone bad on me)
check out the contacts in the switch as posted by Rorschach. THe headlight switch failure is a common problem.

It is indeed the ground wire. does anyone know off hand where it is located?

The ground wire that is connected to your bulb harness? If so, it's with the three wires leading to it.
(Btw, if the left copper contact isn't hitting in the headlight switch, you will get a 'false' reading)

it was the ground wire, and i rerouted it to the ground directly above that headlight. I meant where is the actual ground that the wire goes to. thanks for everyones help, my headlight works.
