EDMONTON -- Alberta should stop "monster trucks" and other recreational vehicles from driving in creek beds and should confiscate the machines of major offenders, says a conservation group.
The machines are tearing into virgin woods, destroying creeks and causing unprecedented pollution, said Tom Wiseman of Alberta Stream Watch.
"There is a general sense of lawlessness due to the phenomenal rise in unregulated use of off-highway vehicles, and you need to act now to get this under control," Wiseman told a government committee.
