OPERATION RED NOSE is an educational campaign and a free service for you and your employees, co-workers, friends, etc. that provides a safe alternative to drinking and driving.

The service is FREE and confidential, and is available to any person operating a motor vehicle who does not wish to drive their car for any reason. A person does not have to be drinking to use this service. However, Operation Red Nose is NOT a taxi service. It is only available to people AND their vehicles to the destination of their choice within each service area.

Visit the web site. (http://www.rednose.bc.ca)

Or you could do like I do, plan ahead! If I know I'm going to be drinking tonite, the wife drives and doesn't drink, or if we both plan to drink, then we catch a ride and/or taxi.

It's amazing how many people still think it's ok to drink and drive! I personally know a few people who have been charged with DUI (and somehow won their case) and still drink and drive. This would be a good poll to see, how many people think zero tolerance is a good idea? I am all for it. Can any one of us say they know for a fact that they are still under the legal limit at 2,3, or even 6 beer they had at a buddies place? Most of you are probably saying to yourselves that "no way will I cause an accident after a couple beers", and you're probably right, so look at it this way. Do you want to go through the embarrasment of being pulled out of your truck at a roadcheck because the officer smelled alcohol and made to do the roadside test? For that one reason alone, I won't have evena 1 beer after work then drive home.
