OK, start the guessing game. Is it a stick or Auto? If it is an auto it is for sure the imfamous Ford C6. If it is a stick, it would be a Borg Warner T-18 or a NP435, both good trannys. As for the t-case I am thinking NP205.
Is your rear a semi or full floater? If it is semi your truck is a light duty, it it is a full floater it is a heavy duty. Aside from the obvious difference in axle strength, you will have the higher GVW springs and rating with the full floater.
oh, no truck envy. I am getting tired of the smallness of my YJ and I am eyeing my dad's F-350 4x. He has done more damage to that truck in the last 3 years just sitting in the yard than he did to his last one in 26 years taking it every where a 2x could go.

If you got it for free I would say run it under your yota. What could you possibly be doing that a 44 wouldn't hold up most of the time?

Oh another question. How are you affording this on a students budget??????

Give me a price on everything you want to sell off it and I'll probably take it. You can never have too many spare parts.
