lets get this board moving, has anyone heard of swapping the pathfinder cv shafts for porsch shafts? what fabbing is needed to do this? sounds like a sweet idea.

Have you had a problem with your stock shafts?
I've beat mine pretty hard (no pun intended) and never had a problem.

It's been discussed over on AC as you know, but it's always been the cost factor and R&D.

I'm currious to know if there has been any estimated travel numbers one would get using the long shafts.

Whoa... fill me in. how are you getting long enough travel that the stock shafts won't work?

good, sparked interest here. the travel would come from custom bump stops all the way to re maning the full UCA and LCA to work for more travel. dont ask about camber issues as i have no idea. it is tooo expensive for me (just found out) but is still a sweet idea. i have just blown a stock front halfshaft after 3 years of wheelin the poor truck. i wanna put larger tires (33s) and wanted options for longer travel and tougher shafts. i know steering is the main concern but its all in the thinking stages:confused: :read

Yeah, I'm the guy that talked about it on the AC board.
It will be done! I have priced it out. The cost will be about 20% of a solid axle swap.

Desert race trucks and sandrails use Porsche 930 CVs and you can order custom chromemoly halfshafts with Porsche splines cut into them in any length you want from swayaway:

The whole setup has been done on a Toyota already:
