My carbureted 87 daily driver Samurai seems to be on the fritz, it runs well while warming up and while travelling to work, but as soon as I get off the highway it seems to idle really low and eventually stall... It does this for the next 4-5 lights (5-10 mins) and then miraculously recovers... Occasionally it does this while driving in the city but for the most part it only does this after a long run...

I changed the fuel filter and plugs, and checked for vacuum leaks... I'm not too familiar with 1.3L Samurai’s is this a common problem? any suggestions?

Carb problems in a Samurai?!? Nooo, unheard of.

I have found that most of my carb problems can be fixed by taking the carb off and spraying carb cleaner directly into all those little pin-holes. It's not a very educated approach and it's a little time-consuming, but it's simple, cheap and usually works.

Thanks WUD, I might be going that route this w/end if all else fails...

Does anyone know what fuel pressure these beasts run at? I'm running at just under 3 Psi , is that too low?
