I want to convert my axle into a full floater. Anyone have one, where to get one? I know Front Range Off-Road Fabrication has a bolt on kit for $750 U.S. Is there anything else? http://www.bc4x4.com/ubb/smilies/cwm29.gif

to my understanding a full floating axle allows you to remove the rear axle without removing the rear wheel. it also removes the stress of the weight of the truck on the axle by placing the load on the wheel bearings providing longer axle life.that's about all I know about them.

Pumpkin is correct. A Toyota solid front axle is full-floating; ie. if you break a Birfield you can remove the axle and the broken bits, stuff a rag in the housing to stop the oil from leaking out, button it all back up, and drive home. Not that I'd know anything about that. http://www.bc4x4.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Craig in Kelowna was working on a rear full-floater for 86-95 axles; haven't spoken with him for a while so I don't know how he made out.

apparently the 1 ton dually Toyotas like the mini motorhomes use have full floaters. With a bit of tinkering I bet it would work with a single rear wheel but the trick is finding one. http://www.bc4x4.com/ubb/smilies/cwm3.gif
