anyone know if a 68 chevy body will fit on a 77 chevy 4x4?
I can pick up a mint 68 chevy body and a 77 chevy frame with a 454 and a 400 and 205 with a 60 and 14bolt. would make a sweet truck if it wouldn't be hard to swap on
thanks for any thing andrew

We put a 66 Chevy on a 78 Frame, probably close to the same deal.
We had to move the rear cab mounts, the earlier trucks mounts were inboard of the frame instead of outboard.
The 68 is a different body style though.
Go for it I say.

Wheelbase differs by 4.5"... 127" for 72-older longbox vs. 131.5" for 73-87. Its all in the cab-forward area. Pickup boxes mount exactly the same between the years. A lift should eat that up quite nicely :redneck
Probably need to work in a body lift with the cab-mount mods to clear the saddle tanks, or commit floor surgery, or use the in-cab tank, or use a rear tank from a K5 or Burb.

You can do anything if you put in lots of body lift. Got a 87 Mazda on a 75 Blazer. Just kept the welder warm for a while!
