Why the high price? I test drove an 02 diesel 4x4 yesterday that was 13,500. How many kms on your truck?

285,xxx kms. The price is not high. Notice all the extras that are on it. Also note, an 02 will not get 25-30 MPG while towing, as well as the 12 valve Cummins will last a million miles or more, and can be tuned or repaired with standard hand tools (no computer). Search Craigslist for first gen Rams; for one in good shape you're looking to spend around $8,000 to $10,000. This one is in good shape, and has about $6,000 worth of new extras on it. Also, my price is open to negotiation.

The reason I was asking was because our local market would see that truck sell for about 6-7,000, which is what I'd consider paying for it. I guess the market up there is better for older trucks, down here the newer ones with the creature comforts go for 10-15,000 with 200-300,000kms. I hear you on the extras, I hope you can get what you are looking for in terms of a sale, I found when I sold my last two diesels nobody wanted to pay for the extras.

Yup, it's a tough market. However, I'm not in a panic to sell it, so I can wait for the right buyer. Also, like I said, the price is negotiable. The more stuff I take off, the lower the price is. I have it at a starting point with room to move. If I start low, then there's no room for negotiation ;)

If you are interested in coming down in the price and will also take stuff off:

Truck as it sits would probably sell for 10,500 with the extras.

you keep the following which is probably around $4,500 worth of stuff?:
- fifth wheel hitch
- prodigy brake controller
- bed slider
- both saddle tanks and all the stuff that goes with them

I'd be interested in it for $7,500 for essentially the truck without the rv hauling stuff.
If you wanted to leave the prodigy in then I'd give the 250 its worth new, so $7,750.

Thanks for the offer, but it's not worth it to me to start ripping stuff off at this point. I'd rather sell it as is, as I'm still using it, and will continue to use it until it sells.
