If anyone is interested in getting a cheap diesel towrig, my 94 Ford Extended Cab IDI Turbo 2WD is for sale.
Its a base work model, no option but AC (still blows nice and cold) 315,000km I've changed the oil regularly since I bought it.
It spent its life with a welder in the back before I got it, didn't even have a hitch on it.
I installed a new hitch, trailer brake controller and overload springs in the back. I put on all new tie rods, front brake lines, Front wheel bearings repacked and had new kingpins installed last year when I brought it to Dales alignment in Langley for an alignment. ($1000 worth of work and parts)
It has Aftermarket aluminum American Eagle 8 hole wheels, Put $900 worth of kumho heavy truck steering tires on the front, and kumho truck tires in the back, Tires were new last winter and still have around 90% tread.
This truck has been real good to me and would jump in it and drive anywhere in North America towing without a worry.
The bad, its going to need a new clutch its not slipping but the pressure plate is unhappy, the Dual Mass flywheel is making some noise and needs a couple of oil leaks fixed. Valve covers for sure ( I have the Gaskets) and possibly the rear main seal when your in there changing the clutch. You can change it to a single mass flywheel and pick one up from these guys for $575 with free shipping
http://www.clutchcityonline.com/dualMassFlywheel.htm I could arrange to pick up the kit for you from my shipping place in WA to save you some $ and time.
Today I put $200 into a new master and slave clutch cylinder and installed it, Hoping that would make the pressure plate happier, but it didn't the pressure plate is done. So It needs the clutch done right away.
This is a great work/tow rig works great and has no problem getting the job done. Tows quite happily and I trust it to get me there. Just needs the clutch job.
