Where can this be found?

Do I really need to go to a skate-board shop???

PA sells the stuff, but unfortunately it comes in rolls about the size of masking tape. I don't know about any other retailers though. How much do you need Chris?

If you're using it for brake/clutch pedals I've found the stuff doesn't stick worth a damn. LR

Does it have to be tape? You can get the same effect by putting down a thick wet coat of paint, then throwing some sand on/in it.

I'll check PA. I need 6'-8' of it to go in my rock sliders. It's been a year and I'm sure I'm gonna slip off them soon. :laugh

I'd prefer the tape, but I'll keep this idea in mind.

Am I hip enough to go into a skateboard shop? :laugh

Lordco does have it, eh? I'll check there again.

Next time you see Blue, ask for the "Rust Tour". I new it was bad, but holy crap is all I can say. Not sure if she really is salvagable. :confused2

Home Depot and Canadian Tire sell no slip stuff.

Boating shop/sales.

Sticky as anything as it's designed to hold up to saltwater drenching. You should be able to purchase it in reasonable sized strips.

Couple of shops in Steveston, and I'm sure you can find something on the Northshore near the water. Haven't looked at Granville Island, but probably to be had there as well.

Here's the cyber version (http://chrisb.users.superford.org/Bronco/Projects/Rust/Rust.html). Of course it is 10 times worse now.

I found a clean Bronco for pretty cheap; we'll see how clean she really is this weekend. :)

Ahh yes, the 'drivetrain swap' after you've consumed a vehicle.. been there.

ive used both PA and skateboard grip tape, found the PA stuff is a little thin, so make sure its clean as hell and dry when you apply it, so all of it sticks. some of it is starting to peel on my rear bumper because my vacume hose was pulling it up as i was cleaning the inside

I bought a roll of that non slip stuff from PA when I lived in Cloverdale for the stairs. Unless they have some other kinds, PA does not carry the kind with a sticky side, so you would have to glue it. If what I have is weather resistant, you are welcome to what ever length you need Chris.

i was able to get the sticky kind from PA but its only got like a tin foil backing... nothing really strong.

I have that stuff in stock. Of course with the cost of gas its not cost effective to come and buy it from me.

Your buddy Pat has a bronco he needs to sell cheap

Ouch.. thats pretty harsh Chris. From the longer than expected winter that we've had this year, I'm getting rather worried what mine's going to look like by summer. Just when I thought it was done Cloverdale salted their roads again last night, so my whore got another good dose on my way home from work at 2 am. I'd rather just deal with black ice than to drive in salt (but I assume no one else does though).

How's the frame? What about swapping another body onto that frame and slapping a paint job on it? Or is the rust worse than it looks? (or are you just wanting to start over to do some things differently?). LR

Thanks again for the input. If I can't find any this weekend, I'll hit one of you up for some. :)

The frame is ok, but I did have those cracks around the front shackle a few years back. We fixed it, but it may be trouble down the road. I've flexed the crap out if it, and the second to last right rear body mount is cracked.

I thought about doing a body swap, but I don't have that kind of room to perform such a task. The plan, if it happens, is to dis-assemble Blue into two piles of parts; a "keeping it" pile and a "sell it or toss it" pile. Then I can bring the newer Bronco into the driveway and start swapping my good parts on. I also want to swap my front clip on, as I hate those composite headlights.

I don't really want to go through building a new truck, but I really have no choice.

Oh, and Dan, Pat probably has a '78-'79, right? As much as I'd love to build one, my parts pile is better suited to the '80-'96 Bronc's, as I want to keep it as simple and driveway friendly as possible. This SAS will be bolt on too. :)
