I heard about this accident before I left the house, and when I got to 200th I said to myself, "How bad could it be"?
Well, it took me 1:15 to get from 200th to 232nd, and when I drove past a car on its roof in the ditch and the tractor trailer on its side, I got a bad vibe. Turns out the driver of the car died in the accident. Apparently the car cut in front of the rig, then all hell broke loose.
I took a few shots with the camera phone:

Its hard to tell what happened just from the pics, but that truck has a legal licenced total weight of 139,500 lbs... An average cars weighs 3500 lbs. WTH would anyone pull in front of it and pull any sort of sudden manoeuvre causing the truck to avoid it?? All I can hope from his point is that he's running 110% legal, paperwork's completely up to date, and he was driving his professional best or else according to the police and DOT he's at fault anyways.
Really sucks that the driver (and his family) of the car had to learn that lesson the hard way.. Its sickening how much I've seen this. LR

I was listening on the vhf this morning and it sounds like a car passed the truck and cut in front of him and then braked very hard. Road rage?? If so the guy in the car payed the ultimate price and if true the guy in the car was at fault then I do not feel any remorse what so ever for him. f him.

Coming back from working in the interior yesterday, I saw more than the usual number of stupid drivers. Three drivers blew through red lights at different locations. They had been red for a while - so its not a case of beating an orange light. Two guys passing against oncoming traffic forcing other oncoming vehicles onto the shoulder - thankfully there was a bit of a shoulder. And, lastly a whole slew of drivers passing slow semis down double yellow lined hills. Guess they just paint those double yellow lines for decoration or they only count at 90 kmph and above.
As for those people who just get passed a vehicle and then think they can pull into the right within 10 feet, they seem to be the majority. Makes me wish I had a paint gun mounted to my rig. I can sympathize with the truckers who have to deal with these idiots, especially on the highways in the winter. They figure as long as they are in front they can do whatever they want. :cwm23:

I drive a 5 ton in the city on some weekends as a weekend job and I tell you I yell at probably 5 drivers in an 8hr day. I have 0 patience for stupidity. That is my weakness. I could not drive proffesionally 5 days a week because I would lose my licence in less than a month. I respect those of you that drive for a living. It takes a certain kind of person to do what you guys do day in day out.

Same as 4Lo. Transport and operate equipment all week.
Just on Saturday some numbskull cut me off just as traffic was merging on the Westbound cut before the Port Mann............on a 125cc Honda. Cut me off and slammed on the brakes. I guess the 5 ton with the excavator on deck, barrelling towards him didn't scare him too much........til I blew the horn for like.....ever. He ended up trying to pull out to the left but after accelerating when he saw me, was so close to the car in front that he clipped the left rear bumper with his leg. Karma, good.

No, good karma would be if his underwear got caught on your bumper and he ended up with an atomic wedgie from it. LR
