Last Summer I put a "drop-up" axle so this rig has over 11" of axle clearance. Great for offroading. 14" approved ST Trailer tires, spare, tool box, jack, vice. Originaly made to haul a harley. I added a mud gate (plywood) to keep mud off my quad and a tool box. Remove the gate and tool box and you can haul a Harley once again. Also has hold down points to haul 3 dirtbikes. The removable white rack is to haul my 12' boat. The rack will haul a 16' canoe too! The trailer I no longer need. I'll sell it for $400 with registration or $300 with no registration. I have too many trailers kickin' around. Ramps included. I'm selling it cheap because its paid for itself over and over.... plus my wife wants our amount of trailers reduced, lol.

what do you mean with and with out reg? You go into an insurance place and fill out a transfer and you keep the old reg papers and the new owner gets new plates.

When I lived at the coast years back I had little money to throw around:cwm36:. I used to make $$ hauling junk to the dump. Occasionally I hauled away a trailer here and there. I usually fixed them and sold these trailers for a couple of bucks, sometimes with me registering it first to meet the buyers request. I kept the odd one and often they did not have registration but they were all u-built. I always had one trailer that was registered. If I had two or three trailers on the go, I'd paint them all the same colour and then hang the plate on the one I would use that day. That saved spending a $100 registering, getting a plate and insuring each one for a year. Yesterday Barton Insurance in 100 Mile House told me that if I want to newly register a u-built trailer under 1400 kg, with 1,000,000 liabilty, plate it, and insure it for 1 year it would be $102.00, $9 more for 2,000,000 liability. I know other people do this that have several trailers in use, but only use one at a time. Today, I can afford to plate each of my trailers:soso

So.... if someone wants to buy this trailer for $400 they can have the registration... if they want it for $300 they will have to spend at least $102 to "newly" register it for a year OR they may have another trailer plate at home. If I sell this trailer for $400 then I will need to "newly" register my other trailer for $102 minimally. Its just part of wheelin' & dealin' and saving $$ here and there. As you can see the trailer has been painted a few times and needs a new paint job but I have left that to suit the new owner.... now I'm feeling confused:cwm30:. Hope that answers your question Chet. One thing to remember is to make sure you don't forget to change your plate and take a trailer out un-plated. $600 fine now for that! My memory is shot at times so I now plate each trailer permanently.

The above trailer I have used very little since I got married in 2004. 2 quads don't firt on this very well:laugh I also don't do enough wheelin by myself to warrant keeping it... too many toys to maintain and especially when they all don't get used.:soso

it's about $100 for the first time you register a u-built and the $45/year after that. i've been using the same plate and registration on a few trailers. there are no serial numbers or anything like that to worry about and there really isn't anything illegal about the whole thing. it seems like a grey area.

it is illegal to use a plate on several different 'look-alike trailers'... one plate one trailer...

it costs more the first time to insure a u-built if you are getting the plate too... after that it is around $65/yr... but just like a truck, ya gotta start with a plate...

thats what i think anyhow... :)

buying it for 300 would be cheaper in the long run as after reg and insurance would workout to 410-420.paying 400 only gives u reg u still have all the plate and transfer fees and insurance as u can't run around with godtools plates in his name??so u get the reg+same plating fees my math says over 500 in the end.no??pay 300 and reg as u-build!!!!
