5 speed tranny

anyone have a tranny for sale. what is the difference between 87 and down and 88 and up as for the 5th gear ratio.

86-87, 5th gear is .795,
88+ , 5th gear is .864

I think early 88s were still .795 but I may be wrong

thanks for the info. so if I want to lower my RPM in 5th gear I would be better to go with the 86-87 tranny? compared to my 88.5 tranny how much would this lower it?
