As of Monday Aug 18, I will step down as VP of the 4WDABC, I have enjoyed working with the BoD in the short time since my nomination.
I wish the Association continued success in the future and bid my replacement Good Luck.

i think TMax would be a great asset to the Association although i have yet to meet him personally :) and from what i read, TMax should do just fine as VP, in my opinion... hopefully John will still remain a member and fellow wheeler.

The VP position is an appointment, can be done with out a vote, hey, I am just going from what Sass wrote, he sees a problem acts on it, you know, actions speak louder than words kinda stuff, well heres a chance to be the action man.
Apparently I am dropping the ball, he better come and save the day.
Or perhaps he is having second thoughts about actually having to do something, meet with people, discuss issues with various agencies, come to a consensus and be open to ideas and to find common ground, it can't be that hard can it?

This type of public, petty bickering between the past and future VP will do nothing to instill public confidence in the association to make a decision on what type of paper clips to use much less assist in land use decisions.

Neither one are looking particularly good now adn quite frankly I think the association could be in a heap of trouble.


Although, GWJEEPIN does have a point. Tmax feels there should be instant public access to the VP 4wdabc. Step up Tmax and man the booth. Otherwise you will come off looking like some sort of hypocrite.....

I didnt think, nor did I expect him to, do anything about the Expo, I will follow through with my commitment.

In the immediate short term....
Your position on the booths is irrelevant. Your beliefs in what the association is doing right now is irrelevant.
If you are to be taking over the duties and responsibilities of VICE president you need to honor the commitments of the position until such time as you are able to influence the changes you want to see.
This means taking the good with the bad. The stuff you believe in as well as the stuff you don't.

In the longer term....

Fine, use your influance to phase out the booths and whatever other changes you want to see.

It is in some circles a thankless job but in allot of circles there is a great deal of respect for what the 4WDABC as an organization is trying to achieve.

Everyone is learning from the discussions that are taking place here (Just look at the number of views on the threads) and as a result of that lots more people are getting exposed to the organization.
Therefore it is a great time to keep things positive and quell the nay-sayers, and push forward with a strong front.
Maybe also a great time to add a thread and open discussions about what is on the agenda for the next year within the organization....

WOW. If there is one comment I wish to express from the 500something post in the sunrise thread and this thread it is: Don't loose your head. Just because somebody was trashing you on the internet doesn't mean you should go over the deep end and give up! I have seen this before with other land access associations in different activities, and 4wdabc is still in its beginnings. The enthusiastic people in the beginning eventually get burnt out, be it from the hard work they do or from the criticism they recieve on the internet.
the irony is anything done or said be it positive or negative will attract more attention, sunrise lake is slowly becoming more well known due to association keeping it active, and now all this bad press with a jeep in the lake.

For everyone's information: The bylaws of the 4WDABC allow the board of directors to appoint (by vote) an individual into any vacant BOD position. Any member appointed by the board will serve out the original member's term of office (unless, of course, that individual resigns or is removed from office at the direction of the membership....there are clauses addressing this eventuality).

There will (obviously) be a BOD meeting in the near future. If any members of the Association wish to sit on the board, please forward a note to "bod@4wdabc.ca".
