Looking to swap in a sidekick rear diff that has 5.13's into an 86. any info on what works for driveshafts/spring perches ect.. and where the best place to find one cheap?

Also sick of having to replace stolen cd players anyone have an old stock sami radio or know of another stock type radio that will work? Thanks.

I'd recommend just getting a player with a removable face plate (and actually remove it while not in the truck)... you need all the sound quality you can get in a screamin loud sammi goin down the hwy

I've had 2 now and I just don't always want to carry the faceplate around, I don't use the cd player anyways, cd's are just one more thing to steal.

You don't need to replace the whole rear end.

Front gears out of a sidekick will work in the rear of a samurai.

you only use the sidekick ring + pinion.

Get an old cassette deck then.. i used to have one & no-one wanted to steal that.

You can redrill the pinion flange to work with either sammy or sidekick shafts.. as for perches.. get some new perches that match the axle tube diameter..get a measuring tape and line it up. Oh, make sure you have an angle finder so you can fix your pinion angle at the same time.

- Or, you can get a 3rd from the front of a tracker/sidekick and rebuild a rear 3rd from a sammy. You'll need to can it though so the center pin doesn't take off on ya. You can swap a front third right in to a samurai front end, FYI..both are 22 spline, where as the rear in a sammy is 26 spline with same ring diameter as the front end of both kick and sammy. Kick rears have bigger rings so nothing is compatible with them.
