Hey guys, it's been a long time since I've been to this forum but I'm looking for your advise. I'm currently in the process of putting a 3.4L V6 into my 91 isuzu Trooper, replacing the original 2.8L. When it's all done (I hope tomorrow) I will need to get the exhaust re done. I went to a shop by my place in Vancouver and he said for a custom exhaust from the cat back would be $1000... This seems WAY TO expensive for just that. This was for a new cat new magna flow muffler and then custom dual pipes off the muffler. It seems to me that for $1000 I should be able to get a full custom true dual exhaust, not just cat back. What are your thoughts and where would you all recommend for a fair shop?

I think it's pretty hard to put dual tailpipes on a trooper.I presume it's one out each side?A good cat is about 300 bucks retail, magnaflow muffler about 180,2 tailpipes 150,a little labor.1000 isn't too bad.I could probably do it cheaper but I can't remember how much room is on the other side, shock and gas tank clearance?Maybe simpler and cheaper to go larger diameter and stay single tailpipe.2.5" would probably be overkill but could be done in single as 2" is stock.

Took it to muffler city in Richmond, super guys, got it done for $600 exactly how I wanted. Props to Muffler city, put the Trooper on the hoist and we both went over what would need to be replaced, the routing I would prefer, and the size of pipe. Super great guy to work with, would recommend it to anyone. Full custom pretty much from the manifold back for $600, tough to beat that.

Moving to General. If White Rock isn't too far, I highly recommend White Rock Muffler. DoubleD Auto Service (north end of Patullo Bridge) is also pretty good.
