I was quoted $287 per tire for 315/75/16 (35/12.5/16)..

Is this a good deal? I am being told it is the best deal I can get but I see in the US they are $245 a tire and that is with markup... The price from my friend is apparently cost plus 20% or something like that...

sounds about right, the tires I bought cost me $50 more per tire than the prices advertised in the magazine. I tried everywhere and that was pretty much the best deal I could get locally.

in your case I'd check with some other shops first, its possible your friends cost is a bunch higher than some of the other shops due to volume, since cost plus 20% should at least be competitive with the US price.

Its tough for local guys to meet those US prices though sometimes, even with out dollar being good Camping Worlds retail prices are still often lower than my wholesale cost.

$287 is a good price.

Sounds like your friend is buying them from a wholesaler, then marking them up to cover his/her costs'.

Dan, What is it that you do? (Guessing something to do with camping equipment?)

I got my 35x13.5x15's for $250 each, but they were marked as "BLEM's".

This was when the Claw's 1st came out and the only blemish I could find was the "BLEM" stamped into them. I suspect it was a marketing trick to get the 1st few set's out of the door.

Great tires, soft rubber compound tho... wouldn't reccomend them if you plan to do a lot of street driving.

Hmmm, my sidewalls have been solid, no problems... But I am running the bias ply. The bias ply's are supposed to have much stronger sidewalls vs the radial, but that goes for any manufacturer.

i had them on my old truck for a year, then they went onto my jeep for a year, sold them to a buddy of mine who wheeled them for 2 years on his ranger, now there on another one of my buddies trucks, and the whole time no one has gotten a sidewall slice with them, i think there a awsome tire, woulda kept them but i went from 31`s to 36`s
