Somebody stole my 2008 Fx4 Ranger out of my parking garage last night. It happened in Abbotsford, but my credit car was used in abby, mission, and then maple ridge before mastercard locked the card. If anybody see's it please let the police know.

The plate number is 1580 LK, Its a black fx4, fully stock, 5spd. The only thing inside it i am worried about recovering is a hilti laser level, its my bosses from work.

The Back window has a orange skull candy sticker on it

Thanks again.

posting a pic would be the best idea.
I would keep an eye out for it, sorry to hear about what happened.
And I thought todays technology with anti theft was fairly decent.....ehh

As in a parking garage at an apartment building? If this is the case that means some smuck, ignorant, selfish jerk couldn't wait five seconds to watch the gate close behind them to make sure no-one snuck in. If there are cameras get the footage reviewed to see who was last in before your truck went back through the gate.

If this wasn't the case, sorry about your truck being swiped:shakehead:

yes as in a parking garage at an apartment, one other vehicle that i know of was also broken into. I always wait for the gate to close.

anyways here is the truck, just it didn't have the tool box in the back when it was stolen

I thought Ford was putting the chips into the keys so vehicles couldn't be stolen without the key. What a crock of #$@#, these manufacturers could put this technology into all vehicles for about $30 and this ****e wouldn't happen.

Whoever let them into the parkade needs to be held accountable, write your strata a letter and attend the next meeting. Find out who it was and have them stoned in public!

parkades are accessable by more means then sneaking in after someone drives away and cant see the gate...

pipe wrenches to the door handles, smashing of doorjams, if you have one of those strips to run over to open the door from the inside, there have been methods to open those...... Or it was some low life piece of crap who has a key.... or an opener from a previous break in....

or maybe it was someone in your apt complex?

From my understanding the factory immobilizers can be bypassed just as easily as every other immobilizer on the market. There are by-pass kits available for such things as remote starters and the thieves have figured out a way to use it to steal cars with transponder keys.

Here's an interesting article on how transponder key equipped cars can be stolen...

there was no forced entry into the complex. none of the doors where forced open. So it was either a previous tennant who still has a key, or they snuck in There is no garage door openers.

i'm guessing that since they used your credit card then they must have somehow got your key too. did someone break into your apartment or something?

i just traded my super duty for a tacoma and i live in abbotsford so i'm a little paranoid about it being stolen now.

If you forgot your wallet in the truck could you have possibly forgotten to lock your doors? or maybe have left a window down?

**** man this sucks my dad had the same thing happen with his ram a couple years ago. he had it like a month and it was gone outta the driveway the next morning. Kinda his fault tho he left the spare keys in the center console, but no gas so it was found 4 days later 5 blocks away. GO POLICE!! haha

haha yeah i do the same thing. Just hearing about this has me ready to run out and buy an alarm for the taco. But with replacement insurance it wouldnt really suck that much to have it stolen :laugh

abbotsford i think has the highest stolen car rate in the lower mainland if not top 3 so if you got a nice vehicle better lock it up good. my bro's supra got stolen outta the driveway and they didn't even wake up my dogs

That's a damn good read actually, pretty interesting.

Sucks about the Ranger man!! I lost one of mine and it was a complete POS but still a complete PITA to deal with. Hopefully ICBC is favorable with you. You have replacement cost insurance? LR

Thats brutal, Id bitch to strata. We have key fabs in my building that need to be used to get in the parking garage, as well as out. Since being installed 2 years ago, there hasnt been a single break in or theft.

it was recovered this morning. somebody named carrie smith tried to run a police road block and hit a parked cruiser with it. This was in chilliwack. The vehicle is being held on a lot for ident before it goes to my body guy. I was suppose to be paid in 3 days... sigh** The driver claimed that they had permission to be driving the car, but i dont even know the person so i dunno. Sucks.

my bodyguy is gunna see if he can get it written off.

The building manager is trying to get the building switched over to fobs, that way she can track who is entering and leaving the building.

Ouch. That's too bad c0nspire.

At least the police are investigating. When our pathie was stolen last summer, the towing yard made the report. The Vancouver police NEVER looked at the vehicle, and NEVER followed up on a lead I gave them.

So does this mean that we should all use steering wheel immobilizers in addition to transponder key units even if parked in a secured parking lot?
