I am no where near the island but I would be very interested in the outcome.

If there aren't similar meetings on the mainland there probably will be. (island may be a "pilot project"

Frequencies more than likely will be changing and they could be going narrow band. This may mean a change in radio gear would be required.....

The system will eventually be BC wide if I understand it correctly.

It should work with existing radio equipment and all have been allocated. They are not subject to change and I am currently beginning the job of writing them into the police vehicle VHF radios.

Ive had my ass saved once before by taking down the vhs frequency at the start of a logging road !

I went on a 5 day backpack trip to come back to the vehichle we were counting on getting out on with a flat !-------And no Spare -----

I used my Ham Radio (illegallychipped) To reach -one of the people working the logging road . He went out of his way and came back and topped up my flat tire ! Saving me many many dollers and much time and effort !

The alternative was not very nice ! So my Hat goes off to the guy workin his job and takin time off to help me !

Are they still wide band?

Any info you could pass along on the "system" would be much appreciated. This is an area of interest for me....
