You ever have of those days.....you get up and do the three S's (sh*t, shower, shave) and forget to do something, something extremely important. Something as simple as TURN ON YOUR BRAIN!!!!!!!!??????????
So today I woke up and decided to finally finish the OBA instalation. I decided to first make a dip stick for my York as per factory specs...so far so good.

so I tried the new dip stick and low and behold there is already oil in the York...thanks Jackhart, or the FSB member YOU bought it from. So then I re-installed the York (I removed it about 6 weeks ago to replace a leaking high pressure hose from the power steering pump). After rebolting the York, I decided to hook up some power to the compressor to be sure that A, it works and B, I make sure which is the inlet and which is the outlet.
Then because I didn't want to cut a length of wire from my new role of wire, I stripped the wire from both ends while on the roll and then rigged a switch to the compressor.
I started up the truck, flipped the switch, which is located right at the compressor and YAY it works and I now know for sure what side is in and what is out.
I go into the truck and turn the engine off, walk to the front of the truck and within seconds, see smoke coming from.......coming from the jerry riged switch!!!!!!!!! Without thinking I grab the wire to try and yank the wire from the switch which is grounded (shorting) onto the top of the York. I manage to complete this task, but in the process, I ended up throwing the wire over the pas fender and burn my hand. I am just noticing the burn on my hand when I notice more smoke coming from the wire (still connected to the + of the battery) that is draped over the fender.
Well, since I'm now once burned twice shy, I grab a screw driver which is right there and managed to tear the now white hot wire from the battery.
This all took about 10 seconds tops and check out the result

So much for the new roll of wire, it is now one solid piece

yeah, it hurts

lucky though, my greetings finger got burned the most and lucky it is right at the joint:thumbup
So now I am a little pissed off, but the job must go on. I am now figuring out how and where to run the air lines and all the other accessories when my nephew distracts me and askes me if I can winch his car over to the garage so he can work on it. I agreed but needed to turn my truck around first. So I back out and as I reach the top of the driveway, notice I no longer have power steering. I knew right away what had happened. I got out to be sure and sure enough, the high pressure hose from the pump was up against the York pulley. FOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then I call the parts guy at 2:15 pm and at 4:00 call him up to ask what the hold up was and he tells me he forgot all about me and said the part was on it's way down ASAP. At 4:40 the driver shows up with power steering fluid and the engine degreaser but no hose! The hose is coming from another shop! At about 5:30 it showed uop and I am pretty much where I started when I got up today:banghead:banghead:banghead:banghead:banghead :banghead:banghead except I now have my York bolted on
