if youre asking if an axle swap is a good idea...you dont need it. bj spacer it, lift coils out back, and a 1" body lift. youll clear 33's easy. save the $$ youd spend for a solid axle...and get yourself sliders and a locker.

Do you have a 4runner or a pickup?

Pickup -i'm running trail gear 4" leafs in the back they ride and flex super nice with procomps at the moment, in the front i have the pro comp bracket lift with the additional rear support bars for stiffness. and also a 3" body lift that i'm not fond of. the kit and pieces would run you about $1200 with shocks

4runner
depending on how much you want to spend fabtech makes nice kits but if your going a bit more buget for now until swap pro comp is a good choice but wouldn't reccomend pro comp shocks they ride really stiff( thats my opinion anyways)

Solid axle swap is always a good idea kinda pricy though, I've been wheeling with IFS for the last year or so havn't found that any problems one broken axle, well depends on how hard you wheel too.

I use an 86 Toyota Pickup. been IFS for over 20 years now, still no problems. the Toyota IFS is very strong, very reliable too. Save yourself the money and just do what DoubleDown said. Want a little extra lift also? crank the torsion bars, will take away some smoothness in ride but you get lift out of it. extra inch or two. BDS makes a nice 4inch lift, Sport Trucks Unlimited quoted me at 900.00 for it.
