View Full Version : * Full Size Truck Owners Roll Call (POLL)

It's clear that most folks here (BC4x4.com) own and operate mostly small and mid size Trucks like Toyota, Suzuki, Bronco ECT,,,.

I'm curious how many folks here have full size Trucks they take on the trails and back road trips?
I thought a poll might help show the number in a clear format.
I realize that the options for manufacturers I've included is limited, but I did't want the list to carry on too long. Just pick what matches closest and maybe post a message clarifying what you have if it's not listed.

I see I missed one that will probably be commented on. My Bad,,, JEEP of course. I can't see how to edit the poll so I'll leave it be.
It's more the size of vehicles I'm curious about so shoot for (FULL) OR (MID) OR (SMALL).

yah.. im going with chris there.. id say a bronco II is more in that range.. a fullsize bronco is pretty much the same as a single cab f150.. anyways.. i put my vote fullsize ford

I know I could have made the poll a little simpler. After reading this post I realized that I added 2 MID SIZED. I was more interested in size over manufacturer.

It's a thin line 'no doubt' what folks are going to consider FULL, MID or SMALL when it comes to vehicle sizes. I think it was more size to off road driving I was shooting for. For example: I'd have to think a Bronco would be able to navigate a tight trail much better than a FULL size Extended or Crew Cab Truck because it's smaller.

It does't matter anyways. It looks like the poll is going to show reasonably well the amount of various size vehicles of the BC4x4 folks.

So far I am very surprised at the results. I was expecting to see MANY more SMALL vehicles over MID & FULL size. It's still early in the poll, so we will see.

Bronco Boy,

Broncos are MID SIZED. It's my poll so following the guide lines I have set out for it. (do I really need to insert a smilely here?)

You are probably correct since you have one. I haven't followed the Bronco series too closely over the years so it was more of a guess for me when I inserted the Bronco into the MID SIZE selection. Broncos are one of those vehicles that seemed change wheel base and general size over the years so I suppose it might depend on the year of Bronco folks have when they submit a choice to the poll.

It's a fine line so who ever has a Bronco to submit to the poll, just pick the size you want and poll away.

Full size parts don't break (as often). Plus if yer wife has a fat ass she ain't gonna fit in no sammy! I had a 4runner for awhile, got tired of banging my head off the roof when 4x4ing. Full size all the way! Bronco's that carry the same front clip and axle's as their 1/2 ton P/U counterpart ARE full size. That's what LORDCO manuals say anyway!

'92 F250 diesel hasn't been wheeled yet and probably won't be, but it'll get lots of use for camping and exploring this summer....the yota's for wheelin.

i think the reason jeeps weren't mentioned in the poll is because they get confused with cars due to a lack of frame or at least in the cherokee

I voted mid sized for my "Rokee because it's bigger than a Sammi but smaller than a Bronco. Technically it's a car because the whole back seat / ICBC definition thing, but parked next to the average SUV out there, it's definitely taller and perceived as bigger.

Case in point .... My Jeep next to my son's Durango

'92 F350 Crewcab. 7.3 diesel. Too looooong for hardcore off roading, but it's good for exploring forestry roads with the family, lifted tent trailer behind it.

"take off road" is a dumb term. What do you want to call "take off road" ?

both my fullsize trucks go off road on occasion, but they're not my primary four wheeler

I trust you. I know the feeling all too well. My '01 Montana can barely handle Vancouver alleys and side streets so I had to buy a Super Doody...
