a couple weeks ago i did my fuel filter because my truck was running really bad, idle was really low. after i replaced that i also put some fuel injector cleaner in my gas too. it then ran really good better than before, until then it was running really good, after school washed my truck under the hood but only the block and head nothing really electrical. right after i left the car wash my truck starting idleing reallly low. so i parked it and put it in neutral and started testing some stuff. i gave it just a little gas and the revs would climb and climb as i gave it gas, but if i just stomped on it, it would like sputter and eventually stall. i am new to this stuff and i dont know where to start.

thanks nik.

You got you distributer wet, it should go back to normal in a little bit after it drys out, next time put a bag over it when you wash it or seal or buy a boot for it...Also check all spark plug & coil wire make sure there in good shape...:whiteflag:

Yup, put a bag over the distributor, Coil and Carb. It's a bit easier for me to cover my carb as mine is a side draft weber.

like others said, you got water in the disterbuter. just take the cap off and dry it out. one thing i like to add is that toy disterbuters are seald very nicely so if you got water in there, chances are the o-ring is gone. its probably a 5 dollar part. put a new one it and you'll be able to pressure wash it all the time. there is also a factory boot that goes over everything. it may be missing on yours. again a very easy part to find.
