Hey everyone...

Looking for someone to weld the cast aluminum oil pan?

-doing a motor swap and Mercedes did not consider my front drive shaft when the designed my diesel OM617 motor. It has a cast aluminum upper oil pan that can be welded (talk to a guy who does (tig) it to swap the motor in Land Rovers). I can handle the sump pan modification (steel).

Also looking for a good drive shaft shop. Would like to talk with them before I weld up all my mounts and take it in to have the three shafts built.

Truck is in Maple Ridge (building in a friends shop)

Cheers

I've had good luck getting drive shafts shorted, extended, built and balanced at Abbotsford Spring Service. Mike stands behind his work. You could save a lot of money by picking up a good used DS with the correct size U-joints for your application but longer than you need, then have it cut down and balanced. Pick-a-part Chilliwack drive shafts are $27.95, Mike charges about $50 to shorten and $50 to balance.
