It's a new year and time to set this year's direction of the Four Wheel Drive Association of British Columbia. We will be holding a Region 2 meeting this Wednesday evening (January 30) at 7pm at the Walnut Grove Ricky's restaurant. Overall, the purpose of this meeting is to set the 2008 objectives of the Association as well as to share our 2007 challenges and successes. We welcome everyone's comments and recommendations about how the Association can best meet the needs of the offroad recreation community this year, so please consider attending (even if you're not a member!).

I hope to see you on Wednesday night!

Great meeting, the Recreation Officer (cool job title) that spoke to the group for the first hour was very positive about the future of 4wheeling. He talked about having designated government recognized and protected 4x4 roads and said he is willing to help us get Blue Mt. opened up to 4x4s again. But, we need a collective voice to deal with the government so if you havn't joined the 4wdabc yet then this would be a very good time. Steve and the Herd have done a great job pulling the assoc. out of the ashes, but they need our support to take this thing to the next level.

Steve and the Herd have done a great job pulling the assoc. out of the ashes, but they need our support to take this thing to the next level.

You got that right, the 4WDABC is working hard to be the "collective voice to the best of our abilities" to promote and preserve recreational access to the back country. It is a challenge, but made easier if more members give their support. For those out there that want to help but are not sure where to start or feel that they dont have anything to contribute, dont be intimidated. We are all working towards the same goal, and as the process moves forward, any and all contributions go along way to making it all work. The framework skeleton is there, we just need some meat and muscle to fill it out.
Not to steal any thunder, the Herd has helped, but dont think that the 4WDABC is a one club deal, the Association is working to be the voice for ALL wheelers, individual and club members, and wants to be the voice for ALL wheelers, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
