The engineer who designed the 95 Chevy blazer s10 should be shot. They designed the fuel tank with the sender at the rear of the tank not in the middle.
When you have a 3rd of a tank and park on a hill all the gas goes to the front and you now can't start. This also happens when you make a fast stop and it will stall.
Just one of the things on my rant list.
What's your beef with engineers?

that's pretty dumb. Shouldn't it be the other way around? I mean stalling uphill is not really a problem but stalling downhill means you lose your brakes and everything .... should you be driving down a hill when you run out of gas :cwm36:

maybe the flu is playing with my grey matter but aren't brakes about as important going downhill as uphill? Rolling backwards sucks much worse than rolling forwards BTDT have the messy shorts to prove it. :cwm25:

not sure about you, but if i'm doing 100km/h on the highway i'd much rather run out of gas going uphill then downhill....

Luckily we were engineered with two feet that's why they give you a wider brake pedal.:laugh

ya have fun changing the fuel pump too
the pump costs like 400 bucks with my discount and you have to replace the sending unit at the same time which is another 2-300 if i remember

Ya the fuel pump sucks to change but it only cost me 85 for the pump, strainer and 95 for the sending unit. I think they gave you a surcharge on the retail. Time to start making friends with a parts person.

Yes, Chev engineers should be shot. For ever designing an S10 at all! S10 fuel pumps burn out all the time 'cause they use the fuel in the tank as cooling so when you're low on gas your pump starts to fry. WTF? Also, you ever try changing the last spark plug on the passenger side of a 2WD? It ain't pretty unless you like cut to #$&* hands.

Try the second plug on the drivers side in a 4.3 s10 4wd :cwm36: Snap-on makes a special socket for it.

In the mid 90s GM switched from the 'TBI style' pump/sending unit to the newer all plastic unit. The old one you could change the pump separately, the newer one you can't - so you have to replace the whole thing and it costs a few bucks to say the least.
