Hey I just purchased a cb radio but haven't decided on a good place to mount it. The speaker is on the bottom so an in dash mount wont work. I have been thinking about the possibility of mounting it to the ceiling. I have a 98 tacoma. Any ideas would be appreciated, also would the ceiling mount be possible?

Thanks

2003 4Runner ... I mounted mine to the right of my console. There seems to be more leg room over there and it doesn't interfer with the passenger.

I have a 90 4Runner and mounted my cb in the center dash below the radio. I got around the speaker problem by adding an external one mounted on the console. Check the back of the radio as most have a plug in for a external speaker.

my cobra 19dx cam with a mounting bracket that i put to the right of the steering wheel, just under the ignition above the knee. i dont keep it in there 24/7, only when i go out wheeling. plugs into the cigarette lighter. most cb's should have speaker outputs as well as a PA output.

could also try the tunnel if theres room...

I wouldn't put it on the celing. As cool as that would be if it looked right, it won't. And how tall are you? I think for me at six foot four it would be in the way.

On my tacoma I screwed it onto the glove box door.

i have one of those plastic walmart console's and i have the CB bolted to the fwd end of it so its tucked up almost underneath the dash of my Ram. if you wanted to mount in dash , that isn't a problem. just find the Ext.Spk plug in the back, get a headphone jack and wire up your fave speaker to it and mount the speaker to it, you could even use on the in dash speakcers (if it has any) or a door speaker if you wanted to.
