I am wondering if anyone is running toy axles under there sammi? I am in the middle of putting in yj springs and I am wonder if I should find some toy axles to go with it? What year is the best to use? How about steering?

You should put toy axles and I went with 85 because thy are beefy,I have all the parts for my swap a 22R new body and toy axles. And you have to build a crossover steering setup and you might as well put in some power steering.

Putting the Toyota axles under the Samuria is easy. Use the Samuria springs. On the front you will need to elongate the pin hole in the spring pad. You need to move it in a 1/4" on each side. Then bolt the springs to axle. The steering can be done by unbolting the tie rod on the Toy axle and turning it around to where the stabilizer mount is on the passenger side. Make a new z-link and bolt it in. Or get the the Hy-Steer
piece for the passenger knuckle and build a new steering arm. Steering setup depends on how much lift. The brake lines will screw right in. Then redrill the pinion flange for the Samuria pattern. If you are building a
late model Samuria and have late model Toy axles the driveshafts will bolt up. On the rear move the spring pads to the same width as the Samuria, bolt up the brake line, drill the flange and your done.
With the YJ springs it will be a little different. The springs being 2.5" wide compared to 2" you will have to make the perches a little wider to accomidate the extra width. If you want anymore help call me and come over.
