I am looking at getting a fullsize chev d44 with 6bolt.. I need to convert it to ford bolt pattern 5x5.5 . Can I just change the hub and rotor, or do I need to change the knuckles as well.

you can't use the newer chev spindles with ford stuff. you will either need the complete ford knuckles out or get the EB disc brake swap stuff (73-76 chev spindles, caliper plates, calipers, ford hubs/rotors)

Some 72 chevy's had disc brakes on the 44's. You can use those spindles as well.

First you need to find out what spindle your running on your Chevy Dana 44. Not all Chevy 44's have the correct spindle, none of the 3/4 ton have it.
Years for the spindle you need are:
BOM......Year........Truck..............Spindle... .....Knuckle......Inner Wheel bearing
Chevy Truck
603374...73..........K5 or K10..........706528x......706135x......705110x
603354...74-75.....K5 or K10..........706528x......706135x......705110x
603706...76..........K5 or K10..........706528x......706484x......705110x
603676...76 1/2....K5 or K10..........706528x......706116x......705110x
Jeep
603462...74-76.....Wag & Cherokee..706528x......706135.......705110x......D isk Brakes ONLY!
603633...75-76.....Cherokee Chief....706528x..........706135.......705110x
603646...74-76.....J10 Pick-up........706528x..........706135.......705110x... ...Disk Brakes ONLY!
Note, last BOM for J10 may be 603464.

So you have one of those spindles, just bolt on the hub, rotor and lock out.

(Do note I'm not talking about inner axles, as that is it's own deal. Just cross your fingers it'll work, as there are a LOT of different lenghts in the Dana 44 outer axle shaft.)
