Reggie Questions?

Hey all. I have some Q's about registering a truck. I have a couple options. First off I am getting a parts blazer that has frame and tub. There is no reggie with it. Now what I am gonna do is use parts from my 3/4 ton truck ie. Front clip, rear axle, engine, tranny, odds and ends ect. and transfer them over. Do you think I can use the reggie from the 3/4 ton truck and insure it as a modified vehicle or should I try and get new reggie from ICBC? I dont know the story on the blazer because it's a parts only truck? Thanks all. Mike

i don't know for sure but i think you might have problems using the 3/4 ton reggie because the serial numbers wouldn't match(i imagine you'd have to get an inspection and i don't know if they check the serial on the frame). I bought my cruiser as a parts only vehicle so i had no reg. i had to apply for a bc assigned v.i.n. and insure it as a rebuilt/salvage vehicle. wasn't too much hassle, didn't cost much at the time (about 6 years ago) and all i had to do after was get a v.i. done and that's it. unless they've changed the rules since, i think that might be the route that'll give you the least problems.

You won't be able to insure it as a 3/4 ton, because if you get pulled over the cops will see 3/4 ton truck on your papers, but you'll be driviving a blazer, of course first thing they will do is check your vin, that won't match the paperwork, so you'll get towed, then comes the hassle of straightening that out. Plus they'd probably give you a ticket or two! :rolleyes: I'd go with what 75toylet said, I know a few people who have done this and its pretty easy.

Thanks all that would prob be the route to go. And also about the cab idea is that I was going to put the cab and front clip on the blazer frame and then just flat deck the remainder... cool eh?
