ChrisS, you may already have read this but here it is anyway:

"Great news coming from the Jeep union today. 13 Action News has learned that a new vehicle will likely be coming to Toledo. It's called the Stretch Wrangler and it could mean hundreds of jobs. According to the union, it's almost a done deal. Toledo will be the new home for the Stretch Wrangler. Best case scenario: as soon as 2004 the new product could be rolling off the line and the Jeep plants could be back to full employment."

Yep, seen that article and a couple others like it. I was wondering if anybody had anything more "official" like a true press release instead of a "somebeody told somebody".
One web site reported that DC reps said the vehicle was being prototyped to offer to the military, but the rep was "unaware" of any plan for civilian versions.
Another stated that the LWB wrangler was being produced to sell to the military, but IF the military wants it then a civilian version will be produced as well.
