The sound I got from a 4.0L Jeep engine was like what you'd get if there was a coffee can on the end of the exhaust. It sounded totally tinny so I took it back and got a baffled glass pack instead. The flowmaster certainly improved power, but I hated the sound. Unless you're driving something with at least a 5.0L I wouldn't bother with a flowmaster.

Umm, what engine are you packing? Two 3" pipes will hurt the performance of anything that doesn't have a huge displacement (or is diesel).

Who needs mufflers, I ran my last car with only straight-pipes, and it sounded sweet:D It also got rid of the annyoing ressonance that every muffler combo made for my car had.

The delta flow are quiter then the regular 40 series.
2.5 exhaust with 40series 2.5 muffler's and a cam sounds real nice.
I have two delta flow 2.5 40 series muffler's brand new.I got them for a good deal make me an offer or there going back to the store to trade for normal 40 series.

Look at the new Magnaflow mufflers. I
just put a single 3" on the 302 and it
sounds good. Nice quiet deep rumble
at idle, but when you get on it, she
wakes up.

Always keep in mind that if you want to go wheeling in the States they require that you have a spark arrest muffler on your rig - no glass packs or cherry bombs. The ORV park police will stop you and/or fine you if you don't comply.

My Jeep has a Chevy 350 with a cam that produces a choppy idle. I dont have high performance mufflers I think, just normal ones, but duals. I am deaf so I wouldn't know how great it sounds, but it totally feels awesome and you can sure feel all the vibrations which feel awesome! People have told me that my jeep sounds high performance (its only mildly over). I think the Comp Cam does most of that, but the stock dual exhaust helps too!
As for the loudness, I have gotten complaints before:redneck. I was having alternator problems one night after a party. I had the motor running trying to fix the alternator wires and the owner of the party kept getting mad at me and told me get lost before I woke up the neighbourhood:boring.
So Save your money, get dual mufflers like me ($200 installed), and get a better cam (if you are up for the work of removing your intake, heads etc, timing gears etc!!!!!) Cams are cheap too and they would definately improve your motors performance!!!!
