I'm about to start tackling the rust problems on my Samurai. The biggest problem is on the back of the front wheel wells. Each side has a hole the size of a fist there, and I'm wondering what would be the best way to patch it up. Fibreglass? Metal and rivets? Metal and weld? (I don't have a welder though) Bondo on that mesh stuff? It does not have to be pretty, since no one looks there and it's behind rubber mats anyways. Nor does it have to be strong, as that spot does not support any kind of weight. I've done a lot of rust repair on my last car using bondo, but never on holes that big. Suggestions?

Clean it up really well and weld on some metal. There are plenty of guys on the board that wouldn't mind lending the use of their welder for some beer :D

I'm going to be doing a lot of patching on my Sami pretty soon too, just cutting away the rust and welding in a new plate.

I also have a question about rust holes, I have one on the rocker pannel right near the back wheel well, and I don't know how to fix it either, the size of a small fist, except it extends to the wheel well on the fold on the inside, I don't have a welder nor the skills to bend a piece of metal perfectly to that shape, how much would a body shop charge to fix this, not painted??
